Wrexham itself is home to a number of world class companies, including Sharp, Brother, Hoya, Kellogg's, Tetra Pak, Cadbury and JCB and there is a high level of foreign investment. There is a significant cluster of Opto-Electronic companies in the area, which between them employ around 2,450 people and generate a turnover of £276m and just to the north of Wrexham, there are around 15-20 companies which are involved in the avionics and aerospace industries. This cluster has resulted from the presence of British Aerospace, which is the largest private sector investor in North Wales and employs over 4000 people.
