Welsh European Funding Office

WEFO is responsible for encouraging new projects, appraising and making decisions on applications, paying grants and ensuring that proper procedures are in place by those organisations in receipt of funds. It is also responsible for publicising the effect of the Funds in Wales. WEFO is part of the Welsh Assembly Government's Economic Development and Transport Department.


LEADER+ Wales

LEADER is the EU's initiative for rural development. Wales has participated in the Programme since its inception in 1991. LEADER+ is the new Programme for the period 2000-2006.


Welsh Assembly Government

The Assembly decides on its priorities and allocates the funds made available to it from the Treasury. Within its powers, the Assembly develops policy and approves legislation which reflects the needs of the people of Wales. Decisions about these issues are made by politicians who are accountable, through the ballot box, to voters in Wales.


Welsh Development Agency

We are the Economic Development Agency for Wales, working for its people, creating prosperous communities by helping businesses to start, develop and grow.


UK LEADER+

UK LEADER+ Network is the network of LEADER+ Groups in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland with the aim of facilitating co-operation and exchange of experience within in the UK, as well as with the rest of Europe.


European LEADER+

Leader+ is one of four initiatives financed by EU structural funds and is designed to help rural actors consider the long-term potential of their local region. Encouraging the implementation of integrated, high-quality and original strategies for sustainable development, it has a strong focus on partnership and networks of exchange of experience.
