LEADER+ Project: Open Church Network

The Open Church Network project has brought together 12 beautiful churches within rural Wrexham with a further 4 joining in the near future.

The Network has created a new experience to enable visitors to understand more about the unexplored history and heritage of the churches and surrounding areas. Improved facilities include locally produced hand-made benches and new innovative promotional and marketing materials. The churches are becoming more visitor friendly by extending opening hours and providing guided tours.

The Network of churches is encouraged to share ideas, expertise and skills, thereby enhancing each church and developing high quality visitor destinations. Volunteers have undertaken training to recognise their valuable contribution to the project.
