Social enterprise is a blanket term used to describe independent organisations that are set up to achieve a social purpose and do so, at least partly, through trading in goods and services.

Executive Summary

Key Objectives

This report has 3 key objectives:

To report on the Baseline Study of the Wrexham County Borough Community & Social Enterprise Activity (see Appendix 1), undertaken with interviews and questionnaires as its key tools;
To identify gaps and barriers in the provision of support to potential, emerging and existing social enterprises in Wrexham County Borough;
To inform a fully co-ordinated programme of proposals with partners and social enterprise support agencies for overcoming barriers or filling gaps in support provision.
