Connect - Summer 2005

Welcome to the 11th edition of Connect, Wrexham County Borough Council’s twice yearly magazine for people who live and work in the county borough.

Summer is well and truly here and it is a great time to get out and about in the county borough to enjoy the attractions on our doorsteps. Turn to our What's On section on page 16 for details of a whole host of events for all the family.

We also take a look at developments in the county borough over the past months and over the coming months, including the exciting progression of the plans to transform the former Eagles Meadow site into a mixed retail, leisure and housing development. In this edition we also highlight the good example being set by pupils from Alexandra School in Wrexham when it comes to healthy eating, and on the same healthy living theme, we do our bit for pedal power with a pullout on cycling routes across the county borough, so you can make the most of the summer weather and get out and about and keep fit into the bargain.

There is also a pullout and keep section highlighting how we have performed as a local authority over the past year, called our Summer Improvement Plan. This also sets out the areas where we feel we could do better and how we aim to do this.
