Awards & Awareness
In October 2002 Wrexham County Borough Council achieved
the silver standard of the award with recommendation to go for the gold
award within six months.
In December 2002 Wrexham Maelor Hospital achieved the gold standard of
the award.
All other organisations are currently working towards attaining the standard.
In March 2003 Wrexham County Borough Council provided a health awareness
day for all staff as part of the Authority’s commitment in sustaining
the Corporate Workplace Health Standard. There was lots going on at the
event with staff having an opportunity to discuss many health related
topics.
Wrexham Local Health Alliance funded a similar event for AVOW (Association
of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham). All staff and volunteers of local
voluntary organisations were invited to attend. This event was to raise
the profile of the Corporate Standard among the Voluntary Sector.
In January this year Yale College hosted a health awareness day for all
teachers and school staff who work for the County Borough which was funded
by Wrexham Local Health Alliance. The event was very popular with over
400 teachers attending.
