Exercise on Referral

The Exercise on Referral Scheme is a scheme that links all 26 G.P. surgeries with the Council’s leisure services.

Patients at risk from coronary heart disease, obesity, depression or any illness which will benefit from exercise can be referred to one of the Council’s fitness consultants for a full assessment followed by a tailored programme of exercise which might involve attendance in the gym or on healthy walks, swimming pool or the green gym.

All this for the cost of a prescription which is currently £6.00

The WLHA is supporting the Exercise on Referral Scheme £5,000 to increase accessibility to referred patients, by providing training to fitness instructors working within Wrexham County Borough Council in Exercise on Referral and Cardiac Rehabilitation.
