The second of the Peoples Voice surveys sought views concerning access to Council Services, and transport around Wrexham.
Over half of the respondents said that they had tried to contact Wrexham County Borough Council in the last 12 months. Of these, almost 8 out of 10 people felt that Council staff were able to deal with their request satisfactorily.
Only 2 out of 10 people who tried to contact the Council in the last 12 months experienced difficulties. Generally, men encountered difficulties more often than women.
Women and people between the ages of 45-64 were more likely to have contacted the Council.
More than 6 out of 10 people on the panel currently use the Internet, with the majority using it at home. Over a quarter of respondents had visited Wrexham County Borough Council's website in the last twelve months and almost everyone felt the service they received was good.
Of the people who had used Internet facilities at a community centre, library or Waterworld, the majority rated the service they received as good.
Respondents were asked how they would rate the Council on a number of aspects associated with transport. More than 7 out of 10 people rated gritting to prevent ice forming on roads as good. The most poorly rated service was keeping disruption from road works to a minimum with over half of respondents rating it as poor.
The most popular form of transport in Wrexham is the car and second, the bus. Men are more likely to be driving a car around Wrexham than women.
Over 9 out of 10 respondents stated they had a bus stop within a 10 minute walk of their house, even though only half of respondents stated that they had used the bus service in the last 12 months.
Those who stated that they had used the bus service in the past 12 months were then asked to rate issues relating to the service. 7 out of 10 people rated the number of buses in the daytime as satisfactory while only 2 out of 10 people rated the number of buses in the evening and the number of buses on Sundays as satisfactory.
