
When the People’s Voice survey panel were asked how well informed they felt about road works in the Borough 43% felt very or fairly informed, 36% stating they felt not very well informed and a further 21% that they didn’t feel informed at all.
Respondents were most likely to have obtained information about road works taking place across the Borough through information signs (57%) and the local newspaper (47%).
Panellists were most likely to state that they would prefer to obtain information about road works in the area through ‘information signs’ (62%) and the local newspaper (60%). Over a third (36%) would prefer information over local radio stations and just under a quarter (24%) would prefer to use the Council website.
The majority of respondents (79%) stated that they find information on road works taking place across the Borough useful.
The vast majority of panellists (90%) stated that they find information on the road works to be accurate.
The survey also asked how many times roadworks had made them late for certain journeys over the last twelve months. Responses are set out in the table below. The journey to work was the most likely to be affected, with 57% of respondents stating that road works had caused them to be late for work at least once. Conversely the journey to school/college was the least likely to be affected, with 69% of respondents having never been made late by roadworks.
