North East Wales Housing Market Assessment

Wrexham County Borough Councils Local Housing Strategy 2007 - 2012 sets out our housing vision for Wrexham. Within this strategy it is important that we understand our housing market to enable us to plan for the future.

GVA Grimley were commissioned alongside the University of Bangor by the partnership of Wrexham County Borough, Flintshire and Denbighshire County Councils to undertake a joint local housing market assessment broadly covering the administrative areas of the partnership Councils.

The report builds on our ongoing research (Housing Needs Survey; Private Sector Stock Condition Survey; Assessment of the accommodation needs of Gypsies and Travellers and assesses current local housing markets, supply and demand, housing need in the area and considers the likely changes in the housing market up to 2021. It includes a full monitoring framework to enable the partner authorities to plan and respond to changes in the housing profile of the area.

The report is intended to inform our Local Housing Strategy, emerging Local Development Plan and affordable housing requirements over the forthcoming years.
