Long term empty properties (empty for more than six months), can cause significant problems within our communities and is a wasted resource for the owner. There are currently around 300 such properties in Wrexham and the Council has published a strategy to encourage owners of empty property to bring them back into use.
We are not interested in properties that are up for sale, let or being renovated for the market. Properties not used as permanent homes, second or holiday homes are also excluded from the strategy. Some homes qualify for an exemption from the payment of full Council Tax.

Welsh Assembly Government - Empty Homes
Empty homes can be a wasted resource. They can also be the targets of vandals and squatters affecting the quality of life for people living nearby. To tackle these social issues and as part of meeting housing demand we encourage bringing empty homes back into use.
