Group Repair Scheme Grants

The form of financial aid is available within the two Renewal Area declared within the County at Brymbo/Broughton and South West Wrexham.

Group Repair work comprises of the repair of the external fabric of privately owned houses and is intended to increase the life of a building by a period of at least 30 years. The work carried out included the repair or replacement of roof coverings, chimneys, windows, doors and pointing or rendering of external walls.

The schemes can range in size from ten to fifty houses are selected by the Local Authority for inclusion within a Group Repair Scheme.

Owners of properties included within such schemes are asked if they wish to partake and the scope and cost of the work is agreed.

Materials utilised within these schemes are designed to be durable and to require as little maintenance as possible.

The work is 75% grant aided and further aid may be available to owner occupiers dependant upon their personal financial circumstances.

Landlords are also eligible for this form of home improvement financial aid.
