Implementation of New Revenues & Benefits system

The council has recently implemented a new revenues and benefits system, one of the tasks associated with this was to align the existing payment schedules, which has meant that a small number of tenants have been paid 1 week’s housing benefit, where they may have expected payment for 2 weeks. The payment of 1 week’s Housing Benefit is correct, but has been caused due to an issue in the previous system, which had paid to an incorrect schedule.

The council had previously informed landlord’s of the change of schedule, however it appears a number of tenants did not receive confirmation.

Payments of benefit will be paid will be made on 15 March & 29 March 2010, so tenants will receive 2 week’s benefit on the next payment schedule following this correction.
