Immigration Inspection

Why do I need an immigration Inspection?

When making an application to the Immigration Authorities, the sponsor or applicant will be required to provide evidence of the housing condition of their proposed accommodation, to accompany their application.

On request an Environmental Health Officer will carry out an inspection of the accommodation to ensure that the accommodation:

  • is free from disrepair
  • there is nothing about the building that will be prejudicial to the health of the occupants
  • the house will not be overcrowded

The following information will be required to support the inspection:

  • Name and Date of Birth of the person seeking entry to the UK.
  • Name and Date of Birth of all other occupants in the property to be inspected.
  • Copy of a Tenancy Agreement or Proof of Ownership of the property.
  • Current Gas Safety Certificate for rented properties.

There is currently no charge for this service, although this is subject to review.

Should you wish Wrexham County Borough Council to carry out an immigration inspection, please contact Housing Standards.
