Retirement Accommodation - Cost

How much does Retirement Accommodation cost?

The rent payable varies from scheme to scheme depending on the type and size of accommodation. The rent charged covers the normal accommodation costs and a charge for the warden service. In some schemes the heating charge is part of the weekly rent.

Housing Benefit

Tenants may be entitled to assistance from Housing Benefit to help towards costs. Advice can be provided by contacting any estate office.

TV Licence

For some schemes, special arrangements are available for the tenants to apply for concessionary TV licences, which are at present £5 each year. New tenants will be informed when they sign up for the accommodation whether the housing scheme is eligible for concessionary licences.
