Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Committee (13 Members)

The role of the Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Committee will be:

  • Review or scrutinise the work of the responsible authorities of the Community Safety Partnership insofar as their activities relate to the formulation and implementation of the relevant strategy for the reduction of crime and disorder in the Wrexham area.
  • Make reports or recommendations to the local authority in connection with the discharge of these functions in which case it must supply a copy to each responsible authority and co-opting person or body within the definition of the 1998 Crime and Disorder Act.

The Responsible Authorities in Wrexham are:

  • North Wales Fire and Rescue Service
  • North Wales Police Authority
  • North Wales Police – Eastern Division
  • Wrexham County Borough Council
  • Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board
  • Wales Probation (North Wales Area)

Together these Responsible Authorities form standing membership of the Community Safety Partnership.
