National Assembly for Wales Referendum 3 March 2011

On 3 March 2011 a referendum will be held in Wales about the law-making powers of the National Assembly for Wales. Each household in Wales will receive a booklet in the post with important information on the referendum.

Referendum on the law making powers of the National Assembly for Wales 3 March 2011.

As the Counting Officer appointed for the County Borough of Wrexham at the Referendum under the National Assembly for Wales Referendum (Assembly Act Provisions) (Referendum Question, Date of Referendum etc) Order 2010 held on 3rd March 2011, I hereby certify that as respects the number of votes cast in the County Borough of Wrexham.

The number of ballot papers counted by me is 27,469
The number of votes cast in favour of YES is 17,606
The number of votes cast in favour of NO is 9,863

The number of ballot papers rejected was as follows:

a does not bear official mark 0
b voting for both answers to the question asked 4
c writing or mark by which voter could be identified 0
d unmarked or void for uncertainty 52
Total Rejected 56

The total number of votes recorded represented 27% of the registered electors.
