Objective 3 (Current Situation - May 2005)

The last bidding round for Objective 3 closed in November 2004 and we are awaiting details of approved projects from WEFO. However, an additional criteria was introduced by WEFO which was that applications should have spend and activity in the Objective 2 area. Thus making it difficult for many projects in the Wrexham area to be successful with their applications.

Introduction

European Social Funding (ESF) under the Objective 3 Programme is available to support projects in the Wrexham County Borough area. This fund is primarily concerned with investment in people with the aim of improving the knowledge and skills of individuals to enhance employment prospects or obtain more skilled employment. It also addresses Equal opportunities and promoting social inclusion. It will therefore fund training courses, basic skills programme etc.
