Objective 3 in Wrexham
The whole of Wrexham is eligible for support under Objective 3 and is
delivered through 5 priorities:
Priority 1: Developing Active Labour Market Policies
to prevent and combat unemployment.
Priority 2: Equal Opportunities for All and Promoting
Social Inclusion.
Priority 3: Lifelong Learning
Priority 4: Promoting Business Competitiveness
Priority 5: Promoting Gender Equality within the
Labour Market

Priority 1
- Measure 1 – Preventing long-term unemployment.
- Measure 2 – Reintegration of the long-term unemployed.
- Measure 3 – Supporting the transition from education to the
labour market.
The objectives of this priority and its measure are to get the unemployed and economically inactive back into work. Its supports the integration of young people into the labour market, helping to prevent them becoming unemployed with a focus on support for disaffected young people or those at risk from disaffection.

Priority 2
- Measure 1: Pathways to employment.
- Measure 2: Capacity Building for Community based Groups.
- Measure 3: The Development of Business Opportunities in the Social
Economy.
- Measure 4: Local Development to promote Social Inclusion.
The objective of this priority and its measures is targeted at those groups excluded from learning and employment opportunities focus is on Ethnic Minorities, disabled people, returners to the labour Market and people with basic skills needs. It also aims to strengthen capacity community groups and organisations and develop Social Economy opportunities.

Priority 3
- Measure 1: Developing new or improved guidance and learning systems.
- Measure 2: Increasing participation and attainment in Lifelong Learning.
The objective of this priority and its measures is a development of a learning culture and provision of better access to information and guidance to enhance equal opportunities. Focus is placed on learning opportunities for those in low paid/low skilled jobs, individuals who lack basic skills and those who are less likely to access and/or undertake further learning.

The objective of this priority and its measures is to promote gender equality and equal opportunities in the labour market for all. Focus is on removing barriers, awareness raising and equal access.

This priority aims to overcome gender segregation in the labour market and alter the attitudes of managers of SMEs in relation to equality issues.
