Audit of Accounts 2016/2017

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 30 and 31 of the Public Audit (Wales) Act 2004, and The Accounts and Audit (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2010.

1. From Wednesday 28 June 2017 to Tuesday 25 July 2017 (inclusive) between the hours of 9.30 am and 4.15 pm Mondays to Fridays any person interested, on application to the Council’s Head of Finance at Lambpit Street, Wrexham, may inspect and make copies of the accounts of the above named Council for the year ended 31 March 2017 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills and vouchers and receipts relating thereto.

2. On or after Wednesday 26 July 2017 at 10.00 am at the Guildhall, Wrexham, Mr Anthony Barrett, Assistant Auditor General and Head of Financial Audit, Wales Audit Office, 24 Cathedral Road, Cardiff, CF11 9LJ, will at the request of any local government elector for the area to which the accounts relate give the elector or his representative an opportunity to question him about the accounts, and such the elector or his representative may attend before the Appointed Auditor and make objection to any of the accounts, subject to the provision of Section 31 of the Public Audit (Wales) Act 2004, which includes a requirement that previous written notice of the proposed objection and of the grounds on which it is made is given to the auditor and a copy of that notice is at the same time sent to the Council.
