Would you like to ask the Council’s Leaders a question?
You can send the Council's Leaders a question relating to the general business of Wrexham County Borough Council.
Question: What was the cost of the failed bid for "City Status"? In view of having come second in a two town race, and behind a tiny town at that, does the council now at last realise that bidding for City Status is, and always has been, a waste of time and ratepayer's money? (Submitted by Mr WS from Penycae)
Answer: Thank you for your question which we received from our "Ask the Leader" link on the internet.
I can answer as follows: The costs on research and consultation, ie monies spent prior to putting the bid in for City Status were: £1,269.80
Then once we agreed to put a bid in for City Status the costs associated with the production and delivery of the actual City Status document were: £818.39
Total spend £2,088.19
I do hope that this answers your question.
Yours sincerely Cllr Ron Davies, Leader (2011 - 2012)
