Names to be Announced for new Arts and Market Facility?
Members of the public will soon be able to vote on which name they prefer for Wrexham's brand new £4.5 arts and market facility.
The top three suggestions for names which were put forward at a recent workshop held with stakeholders will be made public at the Information Event to be held on July 3rd at the Guildhall.
The names will then be going to various venues around the county borough for the public to vote for their favourite. They will be at Cafe in the Corner in the South Arcade, Oriel Wrecsam on Chester Street, Wrexham County Borough Museum, Wrexham Library, the Tourist Information Centre, Contact Wrexham, Plas Pentwyn, Brynteg, Acton, Gwersyllt and Llay Resource Centres.
There will also be an opportunity to vote at the Wrexham Street Festival on 29 July and Play Day on 2nd August.
Cllr Hugh Jones, Lead Member for Communities, Partnerships, Public Protection and Community Safety, said:
"This is an excellent opportunity for the public to engage with this unique project that will soon be opening its doors to the public. It will be interesting to hear which one emerges as favourite and I will be reporting the outcome of the voting to Executive Board in September."
The project is supported by funding from the Arts Council for Wales, the Welsh Government's Vibrant and Viable Places and Wrexham County Borough Council.
A celebratory launch event for the whole family is also planned for 2 April 2018 which will see an old Wrexham tradition revived for Dydd Llun Pawb (Everybody's Monday).
