Brymbo Recycling Centre to get facelift
The Brymbo Household Recycling Centre will close on Sunday, September 14th 2008 until the end of March 2009.
This is so extensive refurbishment and modernisation of the existing site can take place to provide new and improved facilities for residents.
The site is currently too small to serve the needs of the surrounding communities and improvements will help increase recycling targets in Wrexham County Borough.
The benefits of the new facilities will be:
- Increased recycling
- More skips for more types of waste
- Different routes for HGVs and private cars
- Site no longer need to be closed when skips are being emptied
In the meantime, residents can use other Household Recycling at Bryn Lane, Wrexham Industrial Estate and Wynnstay Bank, Plas Madoc, Acrefair.
Lead Member for Environment and Transport, Cllr Dave Bithell said: "This investment is part of the overall scheme to continually improve recycling in the County Borough and complements the construction of the new Waste Recycling and Composting Facility on the Wrexham Industrial Estate. Whilst there will be some inconvenience to residents during the closure the newly refurbished Brymbo Recycling Centre will provide more skips for more varieties of recycling and avoid the temporary closure of the site every time skips need emptying."
Residents are asked to maximise the use of the weekly recycling collections to households via the Recycle with Michael scheme.
The Brymbo Household Recycling Centre is run by Waste Recycling Group (WRG) on behalf of Wrexham County Borough Council.
