Details of Wrexham Business Week Announced

This month will see the publication of the Wrexham Business Week programme. Now in its seventh year, the event continues to grow in size and popularity and this year it will run from 20 – 24 October 2008.

The week will be launched by BBC TV Presenter Sian Lloyd, but there will also be high profile events featuring Simon Weston, TV’s Melissa Porter, Jason Mohammed and Rory Cellan-Jones.

Events will be held at various venues within the County Borough and will range from small seminars to large conferences and exhibitions, covering a wide range of business-related topics. There are events tailored to the needs of all types of businesses, from new start-ups to those that have the potential to expand.

Cllr Rodney Skelland, Lead Member for Corporate Governance & Regeneration, says: “Wrexham Business Week has historically attracted delegates from across Wales and North West England, as well as from the local area, and the week provides an opportunity for business people to network and form new partnerships. Wrexham Business Week highlights Wrexham’s role as the driver of the North Wales economy and I am delighted that our partners have once again supported Wrexham County Borough Council enabling us to stage the event”.

A number of sponsors work with the Economic Development Department of the Council to ensure the event’s success and these are all highlighted in the programme. 90,000 copies of the programme have been printed and will be distributed by North Wales Newspapers across Wrexham and Flintshire week commencing September 15. Copies will also be available from Council offices and it can also be downloaded from www.wrexham.gov.uk/wbw. Further information, and tickets for many of the events, can be obtained from Wrexham Tourist Information Centre on 01978 292015.
