May's Calendar Photo Winner Revealed

The winner of the calendar photograph for the month of May is Geraint Roberts who has made it third time lucky!

Geraint’s tranquil and beautiful photograph of Trevor Wharf in the early evening shows everything that’s beautiful about the month of May - including the blossoms on the trees.

Geraint said:

“It’s great to once more have the winning entry. The area is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and there’s many opportunities to take brilliant photographs especially if the weather is good.”

Cllr David Kelly, Lead Member for Planning and Corporate Services, said:

"It's a beautiful photograph taken in a stunning area and I offer my congratulations to Geraint for once again taking the number one spot."

The Wonders of Wrexham 2018 Calendar Competition was launched at the beginning of November following the news that North Wales is ranked fourth in the world of regions to visit. Staff at the time thought it only right that Wrexham celebrated its placein the world with a snap shot record of Wrexham throughout the year.

The aim of the competition is to find the photograph taken by an amateur photographer which captures the essence of the month of entry.

Entries are now invited for June photographs with the winner being announced early July.

The winning photographs will all be featured in a Wonders of Wrexham 2018 calendar. There's no prize except all 12 winners will receive copies of the Wonders of Wrexham 2018 calendar when it is produced in November 2017 with their photo and name attributed.

All profits from the sale of the calendar will be donated to the mayor's chosen charities.

Entries can be of anywhere in the county borough taken during the month of June and terms and conditions apply.

Photos should be submitted via email, full resolution preferred, to calendar@wrexham.gov.uk. Further information and terms and conditions are available on the Council's website at www.wrexham.gov.uk.
