Awarding-Winning Golf in Wrexham

Wrexham County Borough Council's Sports Development department, in partnership with Golf Wales, Clay's Farm Golf Club and Yale College has achieved the Critchley Award.

This award has been presented to Golf Development for a major partnership project which, through co-ordinated effort, has made a significant impact in the development of grass roots junior golf. Last summer saw a schools' programme, including leadership opportunities, which culminated in a festival day involving many local schools. At the festival day, pupils were treated to a trick-shot demonstration as well as a subsequent world record attempt for the world's largest golf lesson - which they got!

The presentation was made on the opening day of the BMW PGA Championship in Wentworth, Surrey in May.
