Darland Activities Week SuccessWhat a fantastic week... that was the feeling from everyone who took part at Darland's Activity Week which took place recently for students in Years 7, 8 and 9.
To start the week a very successful Sports Day took place, where the sun shone and everyone was able to take advantage of the school's brand new long jump/triple jumping facilities.
For the remaining week, the timetable was suspended and all students took part in activity sessions. The activities (many of which were led by members of own staff) ranged from Karate, Wheelchair Basketball, ‘Come Dine With Me’, Enterprise, bag making and eco activity. In addition, Year 8 students took part in an outdoor pursuits camping trip in Llangollen and Year 7 students visited Loggerheads on a combined Geography and Science trip.
The highlight was the final concert, where the school came together to celebrate the wider-learning that had taken place throughout the week. Mrs Jess, the organiser of activities week, led the school in a rousing Zumba dance to round off a memorable week.
