Developing day care services - a chance to get your point across
Wrexham County Borough Council continues to look at how to improve its day care services to benefit more people.
Although a challenge, new ways of working need to be identified to ensure that as many people as possible can receive this type of service.
Work has already been done under the watchful eye of the Social Affairs, Health and Housing Scrutiny Committee and members will receive a six monthly update on progress so far.
The committee meets again on Wednesday, 11th June at 2pm in Committee Room 3, The Guildhall. Members of the public are invited to attend.
Co-Chairs of the Scrutiny Committee, Cllr Ron Davies and George James are keen to find out how the work is progressing: "We asked the team to have a look at how best this project could move forward. A lot of project work has already been undertaken with plenty of consultation, focus groups and the establishment of a Project Board.
"The next stage is to see how these services could be changed for the good of more people in the Wrexham County Borough we are confident that more efficient and effective ways of working will bring about some of these changes. "
Some of the issues that will be discussed at the meeting include: looking at the needs of special services for people with dementia and people with significant sensory needs; the development of a Community Service Directory; identify expressions of interest for preferred partners to work alongside the Council in providing day services in future; and the establishment of a working group made up of internal and external providers to identify how services need to develop for the future.
