Request for new members for the Wrexham Local Access Forum

Wrexham Local Access Forum is looking for new members. They are particularly interested in people who regularly use the countryside, such as walkers, horseriders, bikers or offroaders or people who have experience in the management of the countryside, such as farmers.

The function of the Forum is to advise Wrexham County Borough Council, the Countryside Council for Wales and others as to the improvement of public access to land in the area, for the purposes of open-air recreation and the enjoyment of the countryside. This includes improvement to the public rights of way and the right of access to open country and registered common land.

The Forum meets 5 or 6 times a year, usually on a Friday afternoon. There are some site meetings in the countryside during the summer. It is important that members can attend all meetings. These are unpaid positions, but Forum members will be able to claim reasonable travel expenses. Any person wishing to be considered for membership can obtain further details from: Martin Howorth, Environment Department, Wrexham County Borough Council, Abbey rd, Wrexham Industrial Estate, Wrexham, LL13 9PW Telephone: 01978 729630. email laf@wrexham.gov.uk.
