Jessica gets her Prize

22-year-old Jessica Wright, is the second recipient of the Pass Plus Cymru quarterly prize. Jessica’s name was drawn from a list of all participants who returned their evaluation form on completion of the course.

Traffic Management for Eagles Meadow Opening

As the opening of Wrexham's new retail and leisure development at Eagles Meadow draws closer, Wrexham Council's have announced plans to put in place temporary traffic management arrangements to avoid congestion during the opening days and in the run up to Christmas.

Wrexham responds to rail network consultation

Wrexham County Borough Council has welcomed the opportunity to comment on the recently released Network Rail draft Route Utilisation Strategy (RUS) for Wales. The Council works closely with bordering local authorities and the regional transport consortium for North Wales as well as the Welsh Assembly Government to deliver improvements to rail facilities and in turn increase usage of rail services in the County Borough and wider region.

Tidy Towns Launched in Wrexham

Communities in Wrexham are set to benefit from funding from the Welsh Assembly Government under its Tidy Towns initiative. Wrexham Council have received £121,000 under the scheme and is now contacting all 34 community councils in the county borough to submit a scheme which they believe will improve their environment.

TV Star to Launch Rural Community Heritage Project

Neil Oliver, the Scottish historian and archaeologist best known for presenting the BBC TV Series “Coast”, will launch Wrexham’s very own Rural Community Heritage project next month (October).

This month will see the publication of the Wrexham Business Week programme. Now in its seventh year, the event continues to grow in size and popularity and this year it will run from 20 – 24 October 2008.

Wrexham County Borough Council Responds to Planned Post Office Closures

Following the announcement earlier this Summer by Post Office Ltd of its proposals to close 10 offices in Wrexham County Borough, Wrexham Council has been working closely with local residents and Community Councils to formulate an official response which has been sent to Post Office Ltd today (Monday September 15th).

Road Closure for Removal of Crane

On Tuesday 16th September the new road around the Eagles Meadow will be closed to through traffic. The closure is to enable Wilson Bowden Ltd to dismantle one of the large cranes that has been in use since early on in the construction process.

The community of Coedpoeth has been working with Wrexham County Borough Council over the last 12 months to improve the network of footpaths within their area.
