May the Fourth Be With You

Time is almost running out to register to vote in the May 4 local elections.

If you are not registered by 13 April you cannot take part in the local elections where you will vote for a local councillor to represent your area on Wrexham Council for the next 5 years.

The Council delivers important services such as education, bin collections and social care so it's important you have your say on who your council representative is by registering and using your vote.

In Wrexham, there are 52 councillors over 47 wards who will be elected by residents in those communities. Candidates may represent a political party or may be independent but all successful candidates will be voted for by their local community.

Returning Officer, Dr Helen Paterson, said:

"With only a few weeks to go , time is running out to make sure you can take part in these elections in Wrexham. Our message is simple - if you're not registered by 13 April you can't vote. I'd encourage everyone in Wrexham to act now if you're not already registered to vote and apply online at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote."
