Council appeals for sponsors for to help improve look of area’s roundabouts

Businesses in Wrexham will have the chance to promote themselves via Wrexham County Borough Council’s roundabout sponsorship scheme.

The scheme started in 2007, and since then has gone from strength to strength, improving the environment for residents and visitors.

Recent work under the scheme saw bee-friendly wildflowers planted on the Croesnewydd Road.

Companies interested in promoting themselves via the sponsorship scheme have a number of sites to choose from.

Businesses which sponsor a roundabout will have their company name, logo and website highlighted on the roundabout they sponsor – along with one of their particular services or products.

Funds raised will go towards maintenance and development of the roundabouts and other planting throughout the County Borough.

Councillor David A. Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “The Roundabout Sponsorship scheme has proven a success in the past 10 years, giving businesses the chance to promote themselves whilst helping us to maintain some of the most visible parts of our roadways.

“I encourage any businesses interested to contact our Environment and Planning department.”
