Queensway Sports Stadium will once again host the Sport Relief Mile in March. And Wrexham County Borough Council is inviting everyone to get involved at Stadium on Sunday 25th March.
Entrants have a choice of whether you do 1, 3 or 6 miles – whether it is as a family team, with mates or against the clock. And everyone can now take advantage of half price entry for a limited period only by registering at www.sportrelief.com or popping into Queensway Sports Stadium.
Lace up your best pair of trainers and warm up with our team of exercise professionals before you follow in the footsteps of some of the UK’s best athletes like Colin Jackson and Paula Radcliffe in crossing the famous finish line.
Cllr Bob Dutton OBE, Lead Member for Communities and Performance said:
“In 2010 over 230 local people turned out in force to take part in the Wrexham Pure Mile for Sport Relief, raising a brilliant £5,551.73.
“I hope that the 2012 event is even more successful with all of the Wrexham community getting behind Sports Relief, which helps disadvantaged people, both at home and across the world’s poorest countries”.
Ken Danskin, Leisure & Activity Officer added:
“‘Wrexham Council is committed to creating an active and healthy Wrexham. The Sport Relief Mile is an excellent opportunity for beginners to step into sport or for enthused runners to beat their personal best – all in the name of charity.”
To take part in the action log onto www.sportrelief.com or alternatively call into Queensway Stadium. Entry is half price for a limited time only.
