A six week trial to improve pedestrian access through Stansty Tunnel will run from the 27th September to the 26th October.
In order to widen the existing footpath for pedestrians it will be necessary to close the road to traffic for three days starting on Monday 24th September. Pedestrian access through the tunnel will be maintained during the road closure. Diversion signs will be in place for motorists.
During the trial period traffic will operate in a one way direction from the town centre towards Plas Coch.
During the trial period, the Council will monitor traffic flows and consult with residents, businesses, emergency services and other interested parties to find their level of support for the scheme and whether a permanent solution should be progressed.
