Website launched for council tenants

Council tenants can now request a repair online with the launch of a new website. Wrexham Council has launched a new secure internet site to enable tenants to get information about their tenancy or contact the council regarding their home.

‘My Council House’ is the name of the new way for Council tenants to interact with their council housing service. Residents can now go online to access their rent account at a time that is convenient to them.

They will be able to find out the balance of their account and see previous balances. Tenants can also request that a repair is carried out to their home, view their repairs history and look at outstanding repairs.

This new service will be available to tenants alongside existing methods, which include telephoning one of six local estate offices.

In addition, tenants will be able to send messages or enquiries and check that the information held on them, including contact details, is up to date. This will allow us to provide a better service to our tenants.

Access will be secured by a password and an additional security question unique to each user. All requests to register for the site will be verified before allowing tenants access to their information. They will be sent a personal identification by post following their registration to allow them to access the site.

‘My Council House’ is aimed at tenants who prefer to use the internet or are unable to access the housing service during office hours. it is part of Wrexham Council’s on-going commitment to developing and enhancing the ways in which tenants can engage with the authority.

This service is now available to all tenants and can be accessed online at https://myhouse.wrexham.gov.uk/ssp_ENG/.
