Supporting Carers - What Makes You a Carer?

The Wrexham Adult Social Care Department provides services to adults, in other words, people aged 18+ years or over.

The kind of people we help are usually those who need support to deal with difficulties in their daily lives because of their physical or sensory impairments, learning disabilities or mental health needs. We also provide support to the carers of people with these difficulties.

Supporting Carers - What Makes You a Carer?

The term "carer" may be unfamiliar to you and it may seem strange to be described as one but we know that most care in the community is done by families and friends. If you look after someone with an illness or disability or the effects of ageing and you are providing substantial unpaid care to that person, then you are a carer.
