Recruitment and Training
Two items that, whatever the size of your business, can prove costly and are time consuming. We at Wrexham ITeC are able to offer a unique free service which may simplify and make more effective your recruitment and training processes.
Wrexham ITeC, which is part of Wrexham County borough Council, have over 20 years experience in the specialist field of the placement and training of 16-17 year olds in a range of IT, Business and Administration and Customer Service jobs and trainee-ships.
Recruitment for trainee and junior administration staff positions is drawn from a pool of in house CVs of students who are either attending or have just completed our Skill Build course – aimed at increasing their employability and enhancing their IT skills to a recognised level. The pool of CVs grows considerably over the months of July, August and September, by those attending our "Summer School" programme.
Subject to your requirements, we can assist in the vetting of CVs and carry out initial screening interviews. Suitable Candidates can then be interviewed at your premises or you can make use of the facilities here at Wrexham ITeC. More often than not, trainees can be given a two week probationary period, paid for by Wrexham ITeC, during which time you can assess their suitability.
Wrexham ITeCs Learners, securing positions through this route are paid, by the employer. They are further supported by their new employer in the acquisition of an appropriate National Vocational Qualification (NVQ). This will involve day release at Wrexham ITeC, visits to the Learner by a Wrexham ITeC Assessor and being given the opportunity and support in work to compile their NVQ portfolio.
With respect to you current employees – irrespective of age, Wrexham ITeC are able to offer, at no direct cost to your business, similarly structured NVQ training. Candidates are signed up as Modern Apprentices (MA). All of this training is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government drawing on European Social Fund monies and is subject to the eligibility criteria they impose.
