“Back to Work” Training Course

Wrexham ITec have a fully funded programme which is aimed at those who want to obtain the skills to enhance their employment options. The course covers Job Search, Soft Skills, Key Skills and Information Technology training using Microsoft Office.

The Course

We offer a full-time course designed to assist you in gaining employment. Attendance on the course is full-time, Monday to Thursday 8.45am to 4pm and Friday 8.45am to 1pm. There will be 15 minute breaks in the morning and afternoon with 45 minutes for lunch. The length of the course will be a maximum of 16 weeks.

Our "Back to Work" training course will give you the following:

• A Job Search qualification comprising of creating a CV, Identifying Job Opportunities, Completing Application Forms, Interview Techniques and finishing with a mock interview.

• Certificated motivational course called "GOALS" – Gaining Opportunities And Life Skills – this looks at taking 100% responsibility for your own actions, expanding comfort zones and achieving your goals.

• Key Skills – Improve Own Learning, Working With Others, Application of Number, Information Technology and Communication.

• Information Technology qualification based on Microsoft Office.

We have a canteen with a hot and cold drinks vending machine, but you do need to bring your own lunch. We have a dress code for all learners - smart, males must wear collar and tie.

Free car parking is available and our location is served by a regular bus service from King Street. If you come by bus, train or drive you may also be eligible for reimbursement of your travel expenses, but you must pay the first £3, each week, towards your costs.

Eligibility

This course, starting every four weeks, is open to all adults of 25 or more who are unemployed and registered with the job centre for four weeks or more, exceptions are if there is a disability/redundancy or if you are returning to the job market after looking after your children (woman returner).

If eligible, whilst on the course, you will receive any benefits you are currently getting and you may also receive a Training Allowance of, currently, £10 per week. Funding for childcare may also be available for any lone parents, subject to eligibility.
