Do I qualify for free school meals for my children?

Only if you (or your partner) are validly entitled to and currently in receipt of INCOME SUPPORT, INCOME BASED JOB SEEKERS ALLOWANCE., IMMIGRATION ASYLUM SEEKERS ALLOWANCE, CHILD TAX CREDIT with income below the set limit but not if you are receiving Working Tax Credit BY LAW no other category of benefit or other income qualifies.

How do I apply?

By completing the attached application and bringing the form in to Support Services at the above address, where it will be processed, provided your National Insurance Number is shown at Part 1 and correct proof of claimant’s entitlement is attached. Proof must show claimants name, N.I. number, type of benefit received with an on-going date. Failure to re-apply in adequate time will result in you being charged for the full cost of any school meals taken by your child(ren) from the date your benefit stopped.

Please Note: Your National Insurance Number (N.I. No) is shown in all correspondence from your local Benefit Agency or can be obtained from that office.

The Authority may check with your Benefit Agency as to the benefit you receive.

What do I do if my entitlement to benefit ends?

It is your responsibility to tell Support Services immediately your qualifying benefit stops or is withdrawn. If you fail to let us know, you will be charged for the full cost of any school meals taken by your child(ren) from the date your benefit stopped.
