Welsh Government School Uniform Grant

Who can apply for it?

Parents/Guardians who have children who are entering Year 7 of Secondary School in September 2017 and who live in Wrexham.

When can I apply for the grant?

The forms will be available from 12th June 2017.

Is there a closing date?

The closing date is 31 October 2017.

Can all parents get the grant?

No, only those who are in receipt of the certain benefits.

What are the benefits?

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit with and income below £16,105 but not in receipt of Working Tax Credit.

You must provide us with proof of your entitlement which must be dated no earlier than 2 months prior to your application. Without this your application cannot be processed.

How do I apply?

Call Contact Wrexham on 01978 298991 to complete the application over the phone (You will still need to provide us with a hard copy of your proof of entitlement) or you can download a form or pick up an application form from Contact Wrexham, 16 Lord Street, Wrexham, LL11 1LG or from the school.

How much is the Grant worth?

£105 for every child.

How is it paid to parents?

It is paid directly into your bank account but for this to happen you will need to complete another form authorising us to do so.

Where do I get the form to supply my bank details?

The same place as the application form.
