The Youth Service Pledge & Mission Statement

 

The Youth Service Pledge

Wrexham Youth Service pledges that Young People have an entitlement to:

  • safe, well-equipped and accessible meeting places

  • trained, approachable and skilled staff, willing to listen to and work with young people in a variety of settings

  • access to programmes which are challenging, designed to develop talents and broaden horizons

  • a comprehensive, generic, confidential, information, advice, advocacy and counselling service

  • support to young people at times when they are vulnerable

  • opportunity to participate in the decisions which affect young people's lives through local, regional,national and international representative structures

  • opportunity to participate in inspection of services for young people

  • right to have achievements recognised, accredited and celebrated, e.g. Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Youth Achievement Awards

  • be treated with respect and valued as individuals regardless of circumstance or background

  • have their cultural identities recognised and respected and have access to services which refelct these identities, including the Welsh language
