Ponciau Banks Park BMX Track

Ponciau Banks BMX track was officially opened in September 2006. Funded by Barclays ‘Spaces for Sports’, the track was built by Dragon Downhill track designers.

In March 2007, Barclays ‘Spaces for Sports’ gave further funding to help set up a sustainable BMX Club for the Park.

Sessions cover bike skills/ techniques to bike and track maintenance.

Sessions are free of charge. We are also looking for local people to volunteer and help support the club in a variety of ways, through coaching to fundraising to help ensure the Club has a sustainable future in the community.

Please see the link for video footage (link to external website).

Anyone interested in joining the BMX Club sessions or volunteering can contact Katie Birks, Ponciau Banks Park Officer on 07753 771 827 or katie.birks@wrexham.gov.uk

Ty Mawr Country park

A similar, but smaller scale track is at Ty Mawr, Country Park.

The track was funded by the Grantscape 'Landfill Tax' scheme.

The track will help to teach the basic riding skills required for the sport as well as being lots of fun.
