Fireworks are great fun, whatever your age, but it’s important to remember that they are not toys.
They are explosives and the injuries they can cause, especially to the eyes, can be devastating. Unfortunately each year around a thousand people are injured by fireworks in Britain.
But that doesn’t mean everyone should cancel the fireworks and pour water on the bonfire. What’s needed is some good planning and a level head on the night.
The advice contained in the downloadable leaflet is intended for those hosting a small event, such as a back garden, community centre or at a public house. For larger events guidance refer to the links in further information below.
