‘Green Light’ is a British Council funded twinning project linking Wrexham with Raciborz in Poland.

This Festival from 27 June - 1 July aims to raise awareness about the importance of environmental education.

Four Wrexham parks are offering free school sessions this week.

If you are a primary teacher, telephone the park you are interested in (numbers at the front). This will be on a first come first serve basis.

    Nant Mill - Metamorphosis
    From river to land, many creatures, like mayflies, begin life in the water.
    Join the ranger on a river dip and bug hunt in the park to see these creatures in all their stages.

  • Wednesday 29 June
    Alyn Waters - Biodiversity Speed Challenge
    Orienteering with an eco twist. Race around the park in teams and answer bio-quiz questions. Schools can combine the physical challenge of orienteering with a test of eco knowledge.

  • Thursday 30 June
    Ty Mawr - Plants and Growing
    Join the ranger exploring the woodland and meadow habitats and record the flora and fauna to add to our annual park survey.

  • Friday 1 July
    Ponciau Banks - Nature’s Food Chains
    Explore Ponciau Banks park and discover the fascinating world of nature’s food factory.

  • Thursday 30 June
    Alyn Waters (Llay side) – Orchid Walk
    Meet the ranger to find the different species of orchid at Alyn Waters, including the beautiful Bee Orchid.
