Welsh local authorities and the Food Standards Agency Wales have developed and launched this national initiative as a joint project.
The scheme aims to raise consumer confidence by giving recognition for food businesses that have excellent hygiene procedures in place.
There are three categories of award - bronze, silver and gold, but the gaining of any category of award is significant and indicates high standards.
