Green Box

If an item is not listed here please do not place in your recycling receptacle.

  • Clean Foil
  • Drinks Cans
  • Food Tins
  • Glass Bottles & Jars
  • Empty Aerosols
  • Plastic Bottles Only e.g. Milk Bottles, Water Bottles, Soap Bottles. Anything bottle shaped and plastic.

We collect the green recycling box on a weekly basis from all Wrexham homes. To check your collection day or request an extra box contact: 01978 298989.

Blue Bag

If an item is not listed here please do not place in your recycling receptacle.

  • Newspaper
  • Junk Mail
  • Magazines/Catalogues
  • Cereal Boxes
  • Yellow Pages/Phone Directories
  • Toilet Tubes/Egg Boxes
  • Clean Cardboard Packaging
  • Shredded Paper

We collect the blue recycling bag on a weekly basis from all Wrexham homes. To check your collection day contact: 01978 298989. If you require a free replacement or extra blue bags you can either ask the Recycling Crew, pick one up from the Contact Wrexham Office, 16 Lord Street, Wrexham, LL11 1LG or pop into one of the many local shops within the Wrexham area.

We collect the green garden/food waste bin on a fortnightly basis from Wrexham homes. To check your collection day or purchase an extra green wheelie bin contact: 01978 298989. Residents can have up to 2 240L/140L green bins collected fortnightly.

Food Waste Kitchen Caddy

  • Fruit & veg – raw & cooked
  • Meat & fish – raw & cooked
  • Bones & egg shells
  • Rice, pasta, cereal & noodles
  • Bread, cakes, pastries & biscuits
  • Tea bags & coffee grounds
  • Cheese eggs and yoghurts
  • Beans, nuts pulses & seeds
  • Uneaten food from your plate

You can place any type of food waste into your kitchen caddy. Cooked, raw, frozen, out of date and plate scrapings. Only use compostable bags to line your caddy showing this logo. Once full tie liner and place in green wheelie bin. If you require a replacement kitchen caddy and to purchase extra liners please contact: 01978 298989.

Compostable Liners

  • You can also purchase extra compostable liners from major supermarkets and some local shops. Never use plastic bags.
  • You do not have to use a compostable liner, you may put your food waste in loose.

Residual - Black /Blue Household Waste Bin

  • All household rubbish that cannot be recycled or composted must be placed in your black/blue residual waste bin.

We collect the black/blue household waste bin on a fortnightly basis from Wrexham homes. To check your collection day contact: 01978 298989. Residents can have 1 240L bin collected fortnightly.
