National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory
The NAEI compiles estimates of emissions to the atmosphere from UK sources such as cars, trucks, power stations and industrial plant. These emissions are estimated to help to find ways of reducing the impact of human activities on the environment and our health.
Department of Food and Rural Affairs
This section has details of developments to control and manage ambient air quality across the UK, including European and international air quality issues.
Welsh Assembly Government
The Environment Planning and Countryside Committee brings together all aspects of the Government's responsibility for sustainable development of the countryside and the environment, and provides a unique opportunity to deliver a more joined up approach across a range of important issues.
Environment Agency
Several organisations in England and Wales are involved in improving air quality. The Environment Agency plays a major role by regulating the release of pollutants into air from over 2000 of the larger or more complex industrial processes. Over the next few years the our role will expand, as European legislation will require us to regulate a wider range of processes, including landfills and some sewage treatment works.
