Are there any grants available to help my business?
There are well over 2,000 packages of grants and other financial assistance available within the UK to assist business growth and development. Here in Wrexham there are over 60 programmes of grants and financial assistance which may be available to assist eligible businesses. Eligibility will be determined by a variety of factors including where the business is located, how long the business has been established and what type of business it is.
The Council's Business Development and Enterprise Team can assist in assembling optimum packages of financial assistance. However, eligibility can normally be determined after discussion with the individual business concerned. Further information about Funding.

What size sites or business premises are currently available in the Wrexham area?
The Council's Business Development and Enterprise Team maintains a computer database of all sites and premises which are currently available within the Wrexham area. Information contained on the database includes details of premises both in Council ownership and in the private sector.

Is there any assistance available to help me start a business?
The Business Development and Enterprise Team offer a New Business Starts Programme which will consist of a programme of bespoke training, counselling and mentoring to help an individual prepare themselves for self-employment. Programmes may offer assistance in marketing, financial planning, raising the necessary funding, taxation etc. Courses are normally held a couple of times a month, dates and times vary. Some courses are offered during the day, evenings and weekends.

The Business Development and Enterprise Team have a company database containing details of almost 4,000 local businesses. Part of the Council's Economic Development Strategy is to encourage local sourcing and supply of goods and services. A search on the extensive database may reveal a local or regional supplier of a product or service.

The Council has a wide range of practical services to help businesses. Support may be from the Business Development and Enterprise Team or from the network of other agencies which offer business support or from other Council departments such as Planning, Property Services, Environmental Health etc.
