How do I join the Library?

Membership of the library is free. You will need two proofs of identity, one of which must have your name and current address. The other ID item requires your signature.

Under 16 years old: you need to provide proof of ID.

Students from outside the area: we require proof of either your home address or your local address. We will also accept a tutor's letter on official notepaper.

How many items can we borrow, how long can we keep them and can we renew them by phone?

Adults may borrow up to 15 items; junior members may borrow up to 10 items. The loan period is three weeks. Items may be renewed by phone, fax, letter, and e-mail or in person, quoting your membership card number.

Can I access the Internet in the library and do you provide any training?

Public Internet access is available at all Libraries. It is advisable to book in advance in order to ensure that a PC is available at the time you wish to visit. Please bring your library membership card or proof of name and address. It's all FREE.

Staff can provide basic guidance in the use of the Internet. They can also help you to find suitable courses in the area or, if you prefer, you can learn how to use the Internet free of charge at the Library. Please ask a member of staff for information.

Can I do some typing in the library?

All libraries provide FREE word processing facilities. It is advisable to reserve a PC in advance. Please bring your library membership card or proof of name and address.

Do you have a fax machine and a colour photocopier?

These facilities are available at Wrexham Library, Rhosddu Road, Wrexham (tel. 01978 292090). Sending a fax message costs £1.50 for the first A4 page (60p per page thereafter) within the UK. Receiving a fax message costs £1.00 for the first A4 page (50p for subsequent pages). There is also a fax machine at Brynteg Library.

Photocopying charges:
Black and white: 10p per A4 page; 15p per A3 page.
Colour: £1 per A4 page; £1.50 per A3 page.
Black and white photocopying facilities are available at Brymbo, Brynteg, Chirk and Rhos Libraries.
