Friends of Clwyd Archives Purchase Census Returns

A complete set of the 1841-1881 census returns to cover the whole of Wrexham County Borough Area will soon be available, thanks to a contribution by the Friends of Clwyd Archives.

At present, the census returns are incomplete for the surrounding area around the town of Wrexham, but having identified the missing areas, and microfilm references needed to make the set complete, the Friends quickly stepped in and offered to pay for the copying of these records.

We are very grateful for their help, particularly in these early stages when we are trying to set up and develop the service.

A complete set, therefore, is available at the A.N. Palmer Centre for Local Studies and Archives.
